Rescue Me ID: 15-02-20-00218Gracie (female)

Bulldog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Gracie-facey-little-Lacey (he entire name but you can call her Gracie for short). We LOVE her. Seriously - simply love her. Gracie really is the epitome of a rescue dog. She was a stray for an unknown amount of time - landed herself in a kill shelter and who could really resist this sweet face! She was heart worm positive but has been treated with fast kill treatment and should test negative in just a few more short months. She has some missing fur on her back that will never grown back - but she doesn't care because she knows she is gorgeous. We recently had a dental done on her and had some warts removed. She is around 6 to 7 ... (Read More)years old and a total love. She's very laid back and super lazy. She has no interest in taking walks - she actually will freeze if you leash her up because I don't think she was ever exposed to being leashed before. For this reason, a fenced yard is required for her. She gets the cutest zoomies in the yard and loves to play with toys. But that doesn't last too long. She's super lazy. She does not get on the furniture and loves having a variety of dogs beds to lounge around on and will sleep on each one equally. She is spayed, up to date on shots and micro chipped. She gets along great with other dogs - loves children and just loves being a part of a family. She is around 60LB and our best guess is a bulldog/pit mix because she is really built like a bulldog. She's been with us for many months now and I tell you, someone is missing out on a great girl. If you are truly looking for just a laid back companion to just yourself, or for yourself and other animals - she will fit in with most families. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-20-00211CJ (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Little CJ has been us with for around 9 months now with very limited interest from applicants. CJ had a family at one time who became too elderly and decided to surrender him to a shelter which completely turned his world upside down. He turned cage aggressive and was set to be euthanized when our very good friend rescued him. CJ was not properly socialized with humans or animals during his stay with his previously family. In the 9 months he has been here, he has learned to co-exist with the human family members (a husband, wife and two older children) and the various dogs who are permanent members of the house and the animals who come ... (Read More)and go as foster dogs. While CJ is better with some dogs versus others - he does have his very own way about him. I consider it a typical chihuahua personality and being stand-offish. His current BFF's are a female Siberian Husky and a female bulldog/pit mix. Homes with very young children should not be considered for CJ because one he plants himself on your lap - he does not like being interrupted by any other person or animal (yes, he will lunge at the intruder). While CJ may take a few to warm up to someone new - once he does he really is THE most loving and loyal dog in the world. He is a bit overweight (my fault - he's very treat motivated) and the bad PA weather has us not walking as much. Once Spring hits and he is able to get out and walk on a daily basis, he will slim back to his 12 LB figure. CJ loves taking walks. He would not be a good candidate for dog parks. If you are looking for a buddy to love you unconditionally and are willing to give a settling in period - please email us for an application at thegoldenpittierescue@comcast.net If you have other animals and they are dominant, they would not be a match for CJ. While he can exist with other animals, they will have to be very laid back. He wants to be King of the World. He is around 6 years old, neutered, micro chipped and up to date on shots. (Less)
